Canada’s SNC-Lavalin has signed a US$48 million contract with Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica to install reactor containment filtered venting systems at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant in Romania.
Engineering and procurement activities are underway and construction is scheduled to begin immediately, with preparations for the work to be carried out in the next unit outages, according to a SNC-Lavalin statement.
Cernavoda consists of a single 700-megawatt CANDU reactor. The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2013.
