Subway Girder Arrives in Singapore

Breakbulk Online -

Intermec Logistics has handled the transport of a girder from Malaysia to Singapore for a subway project.

The Malaysian-based company used an extended platform trailer for the 98-foot-long structural piece. Intermec secured the required road permits to cross the border into Singapore.

The trailer began its 70-kilometer journey in Pekan Nanas, Malaysia, and ended at Singapore Rochor Road. The girder was offloaded to SsangYong, the Korean engineering contractor in charge of the US$553 million downtown subway project. Construction is expected to be completed by March 2016.
