Berard Transports American Countess

(Americas) 4,000-tonne Paddle Wheel Cruise Ship

Project cargo specialist Berard has delivered American Countess, a paddle wheel cruise vessel, from fabrication shop to dry dock at a Louisiana shipyard.

Weighing more than 4,000 tonnes, the vessel was moved using 168 axle-lines of self-propelled modular transporter. The 101-meter vessel was intiially moved to position for hull painting before being rolled to position in dry dock.

“As the trip progressed, the team faced a few tight areas in which to pass the massive behemoth through,” a Berard spokesperson said.

Headquartered in New Iberia, Louisiana, Berard provides breakbulk services throughout the southern U.S. for heavy-lift and super heavy transport.
