CMA CGM Transfers Bilbao Autoclave

CMA CGM Transfers Bilbao Autoclave

Shipping line CMA CGM's logistics division has transported an over-dimensional autoclave unit from Spain to Malaysia.

The out-of-gauge item weighed 76 tonnes and measured 20 meters long and 5 meters in diameter. It was loaded by roll-trailer at the port of Bilbao in northern Spain.

From there the autoclave was shipped to Zeebrugge, Belgium, where it was transferred to the CMA CGM vessel Benjamin Franklin for delivery to port Klang in Malaysia.

The shipment is part of an increased focus on breakbulk at the port of Bilbao, where authorities are investing in a new €79 million dock, known as the Central Breakwater, and a wind tower manufacturing plant that is expected to drive breakbulk demand in the region. The port authority also recently opened a new Port Center at the Museo MarĂtimo de Bilbao.
