Costamare, Peter Döhle Form Chartering Venture

Shipping services firms Costamare and Peter Döhle Schiffahrts have partnered to form a joint venture named Blue Net Chartering.

The venture will provide exclusive charter brokerage services for vessels managed by Costamare, Peter Döhle and third party customers. While Blue Net will focus predominantly on a combined fleet of 220 container vessels, both firms have interests in breakbulk operations.

“The main focus of the new company is maintaining and enhancing long-term relationships between its customers and leading liner shipping companies,” a spokesperson for Costamare said.

Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, Peter Döhle Schiffahrts operates a managed fleet of 450 vessels which includes 25 multipurpose vessels as well bulk carriers and container vessels. Greek firm Costamare operates a fleet of 56 vessels.
