Liebherr LHM 600 Moves Space Components

(Americas) Port Canaveral Utilizes Double-lay

Authorities at Port Canaveral in Florida have completed transport of several breakbulk space components using the port’s custom-designed Liebherr LHM 600 harbor crane.

The sites close proximity to NASA launch facilities at Cape Canaveral has seen an increase in demand from the space industry, with many vehicles landing offshore on platforms and arriving back via the port.

“We are excited to see Canaveral Port Authority use the Liebherr mobile harbor
LHM 600 high-rise crane within the space industry. We were able to adapt the LHM 600 with the double-layer winch which provides the special lifting height to unload the space components,” said Winston Ziegler, senior sales manager for Liebherr USA.

Headquartered in Germany, Liebherr Group employs more than 46,000 people across all continents and is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction machines. The group is an exhibitor at Breakbulk Americas.
