Mammoet Wins Two ESTA Awards

(Europe) Virtual 2020 Ceremony

Heavy-lift specialist Mammoet received two awards at the European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes, or ESTA, Awards of Excellence 2020.

The firm won the "Safety" award for its reverse signaling solution, and a second "end user" award for the design, build and the innovation of its Trailer Power Assist, or TPA, technology.

“The TPA is based on the K25 trailer and consists of six axle lines, with the middle four driven by a 1,000-horsepower hydraulic power pack unit, delivering 40 tonnes of traction power. This pulling force removes the need for multi-truck configuration and therefore offers significantly increased maneuverability and safety,” a spokesperson for Mammoet said.

The awards were announced at a virtual ceremony, originally due to take place six months earlier, but postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Headquartered in Schiedam in the Netherlands, Mammoet provides a range of heavy-lift services including project  cargo transportation, logistic planning and crane rental.
