Siemens to Deliver Montney Turbines

Industrial conglomerate Siemens is to deliver two out-sized gas turbines to a processing facility in Alberta, Canada.

The SGT-300 turbines each weigh 59 tonnes and will be delivered for a new gas processing plant in in the Grande Prairie Region. The SGT-300 units will be transported to the site in late summer, with commissioning of the facility scheduled for autumn 2019.

“This will be the first application of the SGT-300 in the country and we look forward to working with the customer and their EPC ... Siemens gas turbines continue to be a preferred choice for a wide range of oil and gas applications across northwest Canada,” said Patrice Laporte, vice president at Siemens America.

Upon completion in 2020, the facility will deliver an additional 50 million cubic feet per day of capacity and 30,000 barrels per day of condensate stabilization capacity.
