The specialized division totalproject of the Spanish freight forwarder totallogistic has completed the round-trip transport from Spain to the UAE and return of a gas turbine rotor for repair


The specialized division totalproject of the Spanish freight forwarder totallogistic has completed the round-trip transport from Spain to the UAE and return of a gas turbine rotor for repair and maintenance work for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).

The shipment was organized between the port of Escombreras in Cartagena and Port Khalifa in Abu Dhabi. The out-of-gauge cargo had shipping dimensions of 12.20 meters x 4.05 meters x 3.85 meters and weighed 95 tonnes.

totallogistic was in charge of door-to-door full-service including the inland haulage, customs procedures and port operations at both sides. Ocean freight was arranged with BBC Chartering on a charter for the time-sensitive shipment on a last in/first out basis with a transit time of 16 days.

The transport was successfully and safely performed with the total satisfaction of all parties, Javier Martinez, corporate sales manager for totalproject, said in a statement.
