AGL Handles Jebel Ali Drum

Tandem LIft on Bahri Tabuk

Heavy-transport firm Alexander Global Logistics has delivered an outsized steam drum from Germany to the Port of Jebel Ali in the UAE.

The breakbulk assignment involved handling the 79-tonne unit on a free on board basis, with direct delivery to under hook, in order to save double port handling charges in Jebel Ali. The giant drum measured 10 meters in length, 4 meters wide and 5 meters high.

“The cargo was loaded in tandem lift by vessels gear on Bahri Tabuk for the voyage to Houston …. For the local operation, AGL Bremen chose their fellow PLA partner Fleetline Dubai, who handled the job without any issues,” a spokesperson for AGL said.

Headquartered in Bremen in Northern Germany, AGL provides ship chartering services, transshipment, warehousing and distribution as well as full service logistics for heavy-lift and project cargo deliveries. The firm is a member of the member of the Project Logistics Alliance.
