For more than twenty years, Ms. Chincuanco has honed her expertise and skill set in supply chain management, logistics and organizational development, to help companies meet their business needs and goals in the maritime industry and beyond. Ms. Chincuanco has worked with project carriers, EPCs, OEMs, and freight forwarders to meet their global project requirements. Through her consultancy, she has provided project chartering services, maritime law case analysis, and renewable energy start-up procurement and seeding funding guidance.
Her creative yet analytical personality along with a lifelong passion for learning, led her to pursue and complete a Master of Global Business Management from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Ms. Chincuanco’s passions in global leadership development; and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) has led to a variety of personal and professional projects and initiatives. She cocreated Pax et Lux: A Global Leadership Podcast where she speaks with thought leaders and luminaries on the influences that have impacted and shaped their lives and careers. She served as the vice chair and as an executive board member for a Houston-based Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) organization founded by the first AAPI Texas State Representative. She has been interviewed by KHOU Channel 11 and Austin In-Focus News to educate and speak against anti-Asian American sentiments and biases.
Dennis Devlin is Head of Growth, North America with Maersk Project Logistics. He has spent most of his career in various roles in the field of project logistics.
Prior to his current role with Maersk, he held various positions of increasing responsibility for BDP International in Philadelphia at BDP’s corporate headquarters, in Shanghai where he had regional responsibility for project logistics in Asia, and later in Houston. He also worked previously in the Panprojects Division of Panalpina, and for DB Schenker and GEODIS.
He also serves on the Editorial Board of Breakbulk Magazine and on the Advisory Board for the Breakbulk Americas Conference. He has been a past speaker at various Breakbulk Americas Conferences since the early 2000s.
Dennis is a native of Wilmington, Delaware, and a 1987 honors graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with degrees in Economics and Political Science. He also pursued studies in Glasgow, Scotland, where he struggled to understand Glaswegian English; in Paris, France where he studied (and learned) French; and in Taipei, Taiwan and Shanghai, China, where he studied Mandarin Chinese.
Elisabeth Cosmatos has been working in the shipping, forwarding and logistics sectors for the past 25 years. She was appointed Managing Director of The Cosmatos Group of Companies in 2000 and leads business activities across a portfolio of well-known industry brands which include Hub Logistics, Fairplay Forwarding and Cosmatos Shipping Services.
Elisabeth’s expertise in the Project Cargo and heavy lift sectors embraces all aspects of multimodal transportation, in diverse industries such as industrial, oil & gas, renewable energy, and defence logistics. Her experience extends to port and terminal operations and support services for yachts and cruise ships – as well as ship agency attendance for all types of ships and cargo handling operations.
Elisabeth is currently the President of The Heavy Lift Group (THLG), having been part of the Association’s Executive Committee for the past six years. Founded in 1987 by a consortium of western-European heavy-lift operators in anticipation of the Single European Market, THLG has expanded to include companies from North and South America, Asia, Africa and other parts of Europe.
During 2002 – 2008, she served on the executive committee of the Thessaloniki Shipping Agents Association, a grouping whose purpose is to provide coordinated and timely action to enable smooth cooperation in all business activities relating to the Port of Thessaloniki.
Elisabeth studied Maritime Business & Law at the University of Plymouth, UK before going to complete the London Guildhall University course on International Trade & Transport. Among her achievements, she counts her participation in founding the 3PL facility, Hub Logistics SA, as a personal milestone, based on its development ‘from scratch’ into a bonded storage operation that is fully covered by dangerous goods permits and AEO certification.
A fluent English and Greek speaker, Elisabeth is a well-known personality in the forwarding and logistics sector, both in Greece and internationally. Elisabeth is a WISTA Hellas member (and WISTA Ambassador for northern Greece), and an active member of the shipping community.
Jake Swanson is the Regional Vice President – Americas Operations for the DHL Industrial Projects Group. Previously with Industrial Projects, he has held roles heading up Global Sector Strategy as well as heading up the Engineering, Procurement & Construction Sector. Jake has worked in the transportation and logistics industry for 20 years, and has working experience on the shipper, carrier and freight forwarder sides of the industry. He graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation and then spent a year sailing on container vessels as well as 12 years with the Naval Reserve with their Strategic Sealift Officer group. Swanson holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Houston.
John Amos is an international logistics and transportation consultant specializing in issues related to planning, operations and regulatory issues. His experience encompasses the fields of ocean, air and surface transportation. For more than 45 years he has had international and North American positions in the fields of logistics, procurement and construction management.
Margaret Kidd joined University of Houston in 2016, as Instructional Assistant Professor, Supply Chain & Logistics Technology. In 2018 she was promoted to Program Director and in 2022 was promoted to Instructional Associate Professor. Currently she serves on EIC, North & Central America Regional Advisory Board, Houston Maritime Centre Board of Trustees and University of Houston, Community Relation Alliance, Committee Member.
She is frequently in the media including, BBC World News, Fox Morning with Maria, Fox Sunday Night in America with Trey Goudy, NPR, Transport Topics, CNBC and many more, discussing supply chain disruption and solutions. Most recently, Margaret was featured on the cover of World’s Leaders as one of the World’s Outstanding Women in Supply Chain, 2022.
Margaret has a BBA, MA Cross-Cultural Studies, and has completed 60 doctoral credits in Urban Planning & Environmental Policy with a focus on port-city interface, sustainability, and economic development.
Stephen “Spo” Spoljaric was recently appointed the Corporate Manager of Global Logistics for Bechtel. His leadership and forward-thinking ideas will focus on collaboration and an Engineered Logistics™ approach to increasing predictability and improving safety. Before his current posting, Spoljaric completed a role as an area operations manager on a petro-chemicals giga-project in Pennsylvania. There, he was responsible for managing the union labor to support material distribution in support of construction. Spoljaric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fordham University and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University. He has been actively engaged on practicum projects with several university students.
