BIFA Launches Young Forwarders Network

BIFA Launches Young Forwarders Network

The British International Freight Association has launched a networking group for individuals that have recently joined the sector in the UK.

The BIFA Young Forwarders Network, or YFN, will formally launch on March 6 and will start with regional groups at London Heathrow; as well as in the North West; the Midlands; Anglia and the South East.

“The idea of the YFN is to create several regional networking groups, run by young forwarders and designed to help early talent and young BIFA members develop their knowledge and professional skills, but in a more social environment,” said Carl Hobbis, BIFA’s training development manager.

BIFA is run by its members and represents UK breakbulk operators and companies engaged in the international movement of freight. All apprentices participating in the International Freight Forwarding Specialist Apprenticeship scheme will automatically be invited to and membership of the YFN will count towards the 20 percent off-the-job learning that apprentices must complete.
