Biglift Baffin Ships Xiamen Boom and Frame

Breakbulk carrier BigLift Shipping has transported a crane boom and luffing frame from Xiamen, China, to Singapore.

The cargo was delivered aboard the heavy-lift vessel BigLift Baffin on behalf of Heerema Marine Contractor. The boom and frame will be installed on Heerema’s new flag ship Sleipnir.

“This is the first project for the vessel after her transformation into the BigLift colors … BigLift is looking towards opportunities in a rebalancing oil and gas segment and at global expanding ports and new port developments,” a spokesperson for Biglift said.

BigLift Shipping is a member of Spliethoff Group and operates a fleet of 14 heavy-lift vessels with lifting capacities up to 1,800 tonnes. At the end of 2017 BigLift Shipping ended it cooperation with RollDock and has since subsumed the vessel BigLift Barentsz and BigLift Baffin into its own fleet.
