C.H. Robinson Swaps Texas Transformers

Exchange Between Big Springs and Loraine

Cargo carrier C.H. Robinson has transferred two transformers between substation sites in Texas.

The breakbulk project involved the exchange of transformers between Big Springs and Loraine in Texas. The smaller unit, originally in Big Springs, weighed 25 tonnes while the larger weighed 34 tonnes.

“In total, the project required C.H. Robinson’s experts to perfectly manoeuvre three separate Jack and Slide moves at two separate live substations,” a spokesperson for C.H. Robinson said.

Based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, C.H. Robinson is a Fortune 500 provider of multimodal transportation services and specializes in breakbulk services worldwide. The firm is a member of the Project Cargo Network.
