Year-round Contract to Huangpu
Freight forwarder Guangzhou Eversail Logistics has delivered a set of steel billets from Gangavaram Port, India, to Huangpu New Port, China.
The breakbulk consignment comprised more than 15,000 tonnes of prime steel billets, arranged in 7,230 bundles. The project was the first of a year-round contract with a total volume of 200,000 tonnes.
“The main challenge was due to an extremely tight delivery schedule. Immediately after the arrival of the vessel, 3,745 tonnes of goods were transshipped by barges directly to the end-users, while the rest [was] discharged and stowed onto the terminal yard for onward distribution,” a spokesperson for GEL said.
Based in Southeast China, GEL is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, which represents about 200 pre-qualified project forwarders in 114 countries.
