SAL Moves Houston Reactor

Multipurpose shipping line SAL Heavy Lift has transported a breakbulk reactor and accessories at several Asia ports, bound for the port of Houston, Texas.

The reactor weighed 550 tonnes and measured 8 meters in diameter and 74 meters long, while the cargo measured 17,000 cubic meters. The shipment was carried aboard SAL’s heavy-lift vessel Anne-Sofie.

The cargo included about 17.000 cubic meters with three main units measuring up to 44 meters weighing up to 274 tonnes.

A subsidiary of German shipping group Harren, SAL Heavy Lift operates a fleet of 16 heavy-lift vessels. The firm is a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts network.
