Al Faris Adds More Liebherrs to its Fleet

Delivery of 27 New Mobile Cranes Slated for 2023 and 2024

Dubai-based heavy-lift specialist Al Faris is beefing up its fleet after ordering another 27 mobile cranes from German-Swiss manufacturer Liebherr.

The order, struck at the Bauma trade fair in Munich in October, includes six LTM 1300-6.3s, a six-axle crane with a maximum loading capacity of 300 tonnes. Delivery of the new machines is slated for 2023 and 2024.

“The concept of the LTM 1300-6.3 with its 90-metre telescopic boom combined with compact dimensions is perfect for universal operations here in the Middle East, especially in the energy sector. This type of crane is eagerly awaited in the UAE and Saudi Arabia,” said Keonne Pinto, finance director at Al Faris.

The new order follows the delivery last year of 24 Liebherr cranes with capacities ranging from 110 to 700 tonnes. The acquisition included four, 500-tonne capacity LTM 1500-8.1s – Liebherr’s final production units of this model.

“The LTM 1500-8.1 is my absolute favourite crane from Ehingen (Liebherr’s manufacturing facility in Germany),” said Hillary Pinto, managing partner at Al Faris.

Al Faris, the largest crane and transport vehicle rental contractor in the Middle East, currently has 460 Liebherr cranes in its fleet, including mobile cranes ranging from the LTM 1030-2.1 to the hulking LTM 11200-9.1, and crawler cranes ranging from the LR 1350 to the LR 11000.

Its total fleet numbers some 2,600 cranes and heavy haulage vehicles.

Al Faris and Liebherr Maritime Cranes, a division of Liebherr Group, will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Middle East 2023, taking place on 13-14 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the UAE.
