(Europe-Africa) Maritime, Renewable and Offshore Hub
Authorities at the Port of Cadiz have announced plans to transform the site into a regional logistics hub, adding breakbulk capacity for the Western Mediterranean.
The three-point plan aims to create a logistics park based on three segments: maritime, renewable energies and the offshore industry. Authorities will now deliver a series of professional events, seminars, debates and analysis focusing on the port’s “strategic location” between Europe and Africa.
“The main aim of the project is to create a proactive debate between companies, authorities and experts to evaluate the real possibilities of establishing the Bay of Cadiz as an operational logistics center for the maintenance and repair of vessels and other maritime structures, thus enhancing the maritime segment in the region,” said Rafael Fernández, president of Cádiz-Port.
Fernández also announced the launch of the NEO CADIZ BAY Summit to promote ideas, strategies and opportunities related to the project.
