Convoy Logistics, Farcont Move Solar Turbines


(Russia/CIS) Shipment to Kharkov

Cargo handlers Convoy Logistics and Farcont have delivered a shipment of solar turbines from Canada to a remote gas storage facility in Kharkov, Ukraine.

The project involved transport fo 4,300 tonnes of equipment from Carson, California. The four heaviest items in the cargo each weighed 90 tonnes and measured more than 4 meters high.

“In the storage area of Odessa port, the cargoes were discharged by two 100-tonne cranes simultaneously from the vessel and loaded on heavy low-loader trucks for the delivery to the final destination,” a spokesperson for Farcont said.

Both firms are members of breakbulk association the Project Logistics Alliance. Farcont is headquartered Ukraine while Convoy Logistics Providers is registered in Canada.
