Mike Fahy, Former VP of Contract Logistics for the Americas, Took Charge on 1 September
Global logistics provider DB Schenker has named Mike Fahy as its new chief executive officer for the Americas.
Fahy took over responsibility on 1 September from DB Schenker’s CEO and chairman of the board, Jochen Thewes, who had held the position on a temporary basis in a dual role.
Fahy had been the company’s executive vice president of contract logistics in the region since November 2020. Before that, the executive was COO for an oil and gas distribution company owned by Simon Group Holdings and CEO of their technology companies.
He also worked for more than 22 years at transport, logistics and supply chain firm, Syncreon.
“I am delighted to announce the promotion and immediate start of Mike Fahy as the chief executive officer for DB Schenker, Region Americas,” Thewes said.
“Filling this important position from within our own ranks proves once again the enormous talent and quality of our leadership team on all continents. Mike combines widespread experience in both transport and logistics with a deep expertise in end-to-end forwarding solutions. I am most impressed with what he has achieved for our customers during his time at DB Schenker.”
DB Schenker’s Americas presence includes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, United States and Venezuela. Some 10,000 employees are based in 123 locations in the region.
DB Schenker, which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary, will be in attendance at Breakbulk Americas 2022, taking place on 27-29 September at the George R. Brown Convention Centre in Houston, Texas.
Axel Kaldschmidt, head VM aerospace-marine-defence at Schenker Americas, will be a speaker on our main stage panel session, “Air Cargo Solutions for Project Cargo”, on 28 September from 3pm-3.45pm.
