AAIP Delivers Naga Transformer
Logistics firm AAI and Peers has transported a transformer from Manila to a small port in Naga, the Philippines.
The ABB 300 megavolt-ampere transformer weighed 155 tonnes and was the second unit delivered by AAIP for the same project. The unit measured 9 meters long, 3 meters wide and 65 meters high.
"AAIP was the only project forwarder to bid for this transformer delivery because all other local competitors assumed that there was no access to the site because the bridges on the route were not capable of handling the 155-tonne weight of the cargo, plus other possible obstructions to the site. However, we have the mindset of 'nothing is impossible to transport' and our team meticulously studied all the possible routes and options a suitable solution was found,” said Jimmy D. Chung II, assistant vice president at AAIP.
Based in in the Philippines, AAIP is a member of the Project Cargo Network, which connects breakbulk handling firms in more than 100 countries.
