AGL Transports Precision Milling Machines

An-124 from Stuttgart

Heavy-transport firm Alexander Global Logistics has moved three precision milling machines to the U.S. from Germany.

The breakbulk machines were dismantled into six custom-built crates, measuring more than 5 meters in length and weighing 14.3 tonnes each. Cargo was transported by AN-124 aircraft.

“The entire shipment had a weight of 90 tons and was close to the maximum weight allowed for uplift from airport Stuttgart to perform the leg to Phoenix, Arizona, with only two technical stops in between,” a spokesperson for AGL said.

Headquartered in Bremen in Northern Germany, AGL provides ship chartering services, transhipment, warehousing and distribution as well as full service logistics for heavy-lift and project cargo deliveries. The firm is a member of the member of the Project Logistics Alliance.
