Allseas Wins Major Pipelay Project in Brazil

Buzios-10 Marks One of the Engineering Firm’s Largest Contracts in 40 Years

Offshore engineering company Allseas has won a contract for the design, procurement, construction and installation of subsea infrastructure for the Buzios-10 field in Brazil’s Santos Basin pre-salt province some 180 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

The contract, awarded by Petrobras following a competitive tender, constitutes one of Allseas’ largest offshore pipeline installation projects in its 40-year history, the Swiss firm said, pointing to the campaign’s ultra-deepwater challenges, diverse subsea equipment and extensive engineering and fabrication scope.

The work is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

Allseas will deploy its pipelay vessel Audacia to install 111 kilometers of rigid risers and flowlines at depths of more than two kilometers. The system will connect 16 wells to a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel using steel risers in a “lazy wave” formation. Key components such as flex joints, pipeline end terminations and jumpers will complete the connections.

To support its work, Allseas has established a new project management and engineering office in Rio de Janeiro. Subcontracts for the manufacturing of seamless linepipe, internal cladding and flexible joints for the steel catenary risers are being finalized.

The company is also committed to 40% local labor content, creating 2,000 jobs and strengthening Brazil’s offshore supply chain.

“This award reaffirms our position as a leading player in one of the world’s most prolific deepwater regions and underscores our ability to execute complex, large-scale offshore projects,” said Frans den Hartogh, project director at Allseas.

Allseas’ has previously worked in Brazil installing export pipelines for Petrobras’s Rota 1, Rota 2 and Rota 3 pre-salt developments.

Allseas is a member of the Breakbulk Global Shipper Network.
