(Europe-Africa) Shipment Via Vigo
Logistics firm Altius has delivered a tuna fishing vessel from Spain to the Ivory Coast.
The 50-ton panga boat, Playa de Azkorri, was loaded aboard the cargo vessel BOCS Spirit at the port of Vigo in the northwest of Spain. From there it was shipped direct to Abidjan in the Ivory Coast.
“The road transport from the shipyard to the port of loading was not feasible due to the boat’s height of 5,5 meters, so she sailed to the port of Vigo, where it was directly loaded from the water,” a spokesperson for Altius explained.
Altius is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, which represents independent freight forwarders in heavy bulk industries worldwide.
