Berard Moves Texas Offshore Deck

Project cargo firm Berard has loaded out an offshore oil deck for a south Texas fabricator.

The breakbulk operation required handling the 1,775-tonne offshore deck using 16 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporter. The move involved transfer of 23-meter-wide unit to a deck barge using steel plating to help support the weight.

“A ballast plan was carefully executed as the load was transferred onto the barge and into final position for sea fastening,” a spokesperson for Berard said.

Headquartered in New Iberia, Louisiana, Berard provides a range of services throughout the southern U.S. for heavy-lift and super-heavy transport.
