Cemus/234 Terminal Invests in Port Equipment

Recent Purchases Include Wheel Loaders and a 100-Foot Stacker

Cemus/234 Terminal Corp, a deepwater port operator at Baton Rouge in the state of Louisiana, is ramping up its investment in cutting-edge port equipment in a bid to meet the growing demands of its global clients.

Among the operator’s recent purchases are Volvo L-35G and L-180H wheel loaders from Scott Equipment, designed to facilitate the final clean-up of bulk commodities in barges and provide efficient truck loading with their 7.5 cubic yard buckets, and a Powerscreen CT100 100-foot stacker to store bulk commodities both inside and outside warehouse facilities.

“Our companies have been reinvesting in daily-use equipment to better handle the demands of the industry both in the present and the future,” said Joe Gagliano, terminal manager at Cemus/234 Terminal Corp.

Cemus/234 Terminal Corp operates a modern cargo terminal specializing in bulk shipping and both indoor and outdoor ground storage. The company provides a range of services including breakbulk and project cargo handling, stevedoring, logistics, warehousing, storage and distribution.

The terminal, located 91 kilometers north from the mouth of the Mississippi River at river mile marker 234, houses a port docking facility that can accommodate Handymax and Panamax vessels, and works with all of Baton Rouge Harbor’s barge lines to enable efficient loading and offloading.

Cemus/234 Terminal will be exhibiting for the first time at Breakbulk Americas 2024 on Oct. 15-17 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Meet the team at Stand B62.
