Delivery from Belgium
Freight forwarder C.H. Robinson has delivered a compressor unit from Belgium to Kyrgyzstan.
The outsized component weighed 9 tonnes and measured 4 meters long. It was delivered across Russia via a mixture of rail transport, truckload service and mafi shipment by barge.
“Choosing to include rail transportation for this project was not decided lightly ... the compressor unit faced extra G-forces through parts of Russia as a result of ascending and descending several mountain ranges,” a spokesperson for C.H. Robinson said.
Based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, C.H. Robinson provides breakbulk services worldwide and is a member of member of the Project Cargo Network, which connects more than 240 specialist members in more than 100 countries.
