Dan-Czech Delivers Pilsen Turbine Parts
Logistics services provider Dan-Czech Specialtransport has delivered an over-dimensional turbine from Siemens Görlitz in Germany to Avonmouthin the UK.
Due to poor water levels in the river Elbe, the 110-tonne unit was routed for precarriage via Nuremberg port in Bavaria as opposed to the usual Dresden or Aken Elbe river ports. The cargo measured 27 meters long, 5 meters wide and 5 meters high.
“From the Port of Nuremberg the turbine traveled to Rotterdam by barge where it was transloaded onto the sea coaster headed for Avonmouth. It took three weeks to transport the turbine from the place of origin to its final destination,” a spokesperson for Dan-Czech said.
Headquartered in Melnik on the banks of the river Elbe in the Czech Republic, Dan Czech provides international project cargo transport and also operates offices in Pilsen and Ostrava.
