900 Kilometers by Road
Cargo firm Egyptian Global Logistics has delivered a two heavy-lift vessels across land in Egypt.
The 117-tonne vessels were received at a container terminal and unloaded with terminal gantry cranes. A team from EGL then oversaw transport 900 kilometers inland by road, to avoid unstable infrastructure on coastal routes.
“It was a quite challenging operation scheme that was performed and completed, despite the difficult conditions … EGL achieved this success through careful planning without sacrificing safety,” a spokesperson for the firm said.
Based in Alexandria on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, EGL is a subsidiary of Kadmar Group which specializes in shipping services, breakbulk handling and transport logistics solutions worldwide.
