Harren Group Launches Ship Management Division

Maritime Specialist to Offer Comprehensive Services for All Major Vessel Types

Germany’s Harren Group has added a new ship management division to its portfolio of companies, as the maritime and heavy-lift specialist seeks to capitalize on three decades of experience owning and operating a large fleet of vessels.

Harren Group, whose portfolio already includes SAL Heavy Lift, SAL Engineering, Intermarine, Combi Lift, Atheleon, Harren Tankers and Harren Bulkers, currently operates a fleet of more than 80 heavy-lift carriers, bulkers, tankers, dock ships, container feeders, tugs, barges, and offshore vessels.

The new division, named Harren Ship Management, will provide “comprehensive” ship services for all major vessel types, the Bremen-based company said.

“A multi-million-dollar asset deserves more than standard off-the-shelf management,” said Nils Aden, managing director of Harren Group.

“It is vital to be proactive about taking the many constantly changing parameters into account. This ranges from managing opex in different market cycles to dynamically adapting charterer requirements and adjusted asset strategies.

“An owner’s success depends heavily on their managers’ ability to connect the dots. We fully understand our customers’ needs from our own daily operations.”

CEO Martin Harren added that the company’s “deep understanding” of commercial markets would help vessels generate the “highest possible revenues”. Customers would also benefit from access to Harren’s wide-ranging group activities, global office network, strong approach on sustainability and engineering excellence, he said.

Heavy-lift venture Jumbo-SAL-Alliance and Combi Lift are regular exhibitors at Breakbulk events.
The next event in the calendar is Breakbulk Middle East 2024, taking place on 12-13 February at the Dubai World Trade Center.
