(Americas) Towage from Houston
Cargo specialist Intercontinental Shipping has transported a jack-up rig from Texas to Trinidad for installation offshore.
The rig weighed 4,572 tonnes and was loaded at the port of Houston, Texas, where it was transferred to a semi-submersible deck barge, before being towed by a support tug towards Trinidad. A team from Intercontinental handled all agency requests, customs clearance, and operational logistics.
“Logistical support for the float off operations, berthing, and de-mobilizing, including crew and equipment, were coordinated in advance so that further work could be continued within the territory,” a spokesperson for the firm said.
Based in Trinidad and Tobago, Intercontinental operates three offices across the islands and is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, or PLA, which represents about 200 pre-qualified project forwarders in 114 countries.
