Shipment from Gabon
Cargo specialist Intercontinental Shipping has transported a pipe laying barge to an offshore production platform, near the coast of Trinidad & Tobago.
The outsized unit, comprised housing and amenities for 60 personnel and weighed 2,200 tonnes. Measuring more than 70 meters long, it was installed to support staff during construction of a 10-inch by 4-kilometer pipeline.
“The equipment was loaded and transported with the clients own asset of a semi-submersible deck barge towed by support tugs from Gabon to Trinidad, without any transit difficulties,” a spokesperson for the firm said.
Based in Trinidad and Tobago, Intercontinental operates three offices across the islands and is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, which represents about 200 pre-qualified project forwarders in 114 countries.
