LASO Completes Vestas Turbine Installation (Video)

Specialized equipment drives success

LASO has completed the installation of two Vestas - V150 turbines, with blades measuring approximately 75 meters in length at the Serra do Ralo Wind Park in Daimiel, Spain. The transport company used its Blade Lifters and other fit-for-purpose equipment to transport the various components.

The tubes were transported from CarballiƱo, Ourense, with transfer to the axis lines using its gantry cranes. The nacelles, hub and drive-trains went directly from the Port of Aveiro to Celorico da Beira. Coordination and planning was successfully performed by a LASO team consisting of engineers, specialized technicians, drivers, and pilots – in all, around 25 people.

LASO said its investment in new equipment has been a constant bet keeping the company at the vanguard of special transports, enabling it to continue to give the best solutions to the constant challenges presented by the manufacturers and installation locations.
