Semi-Trailer Deployed to Carry 8.6-Meter-Wide Components Along Portuguese Highway
Portuguese heavy-lift specialist Laso Transportes has successfully delivered a batch of 8.6-meter-wide wind tower bases from Oliveira de Frades to CS Wind’s base at Aveiro in central Portugal.
The “complexity” of the one-day operation called for a police escort and the temporary shutdown of the A25 motorway, Laso said. A semi-trailer attached to a tractor unit along with other fit-for-purpose equipment were deployed to carry out the move.
Laso, with its headquarters in Milharado, specialises in road transport services for heavy and oversized cargo.
The company's 1,300-strong workforce are based in offices in Portugal, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Slovenia, the UK, Mozambique and Morocco.
