Baytown Site is Houston-Based Logistics Provider’s Largest Facility

Palmer Logistics has launched a new 616,700-square-foot warehouse facility in Baytown, Texas, expanding its third-party distribution space in the greater Houston area to more than three million square feet.

The facility, the largest in the logistics provider’s portfolio, was developed by National Property Holdings in their AmeriPort industrial complex. The warehouse boasts 58,450 square feet of H4 storage and 92 warehouse doors and has the capacity to accommodate 119 container and trailer drops.

The AmeriPort complex features integrated rail services provided by Rail Logix and is dual served by UP and BNSF.

“With Port of Houston volumes consistently growing year over year, it was absolutely critical that we locked in competitively priced distribution capacity close to the port market,” said Brett Mears, president of Palmer Logistics.

“With a 40-foot clear height, this facility enables us to used racked warehouse solutions to drive down storage prices for our customers. The site has the infrastructure to support high volumes of imports and exports, rail and general distribution requirements, which enables us to run highly productive operations. And with a distance of less than 15 miles from the Port of Houston, we can provide low cost, turnkey solutions that include drayage with our house carrier, Pioneer Freight.”

Palmer Logistics has been trading in Houston since 1965. The company boasts a workforce of more than 350 logistics professionals with additional warehouse locations in Dallas, Texas and Savannah, Georgia.
