Specialist logistics and forwarding provider Van der Vlist has handled a shipment of 150 windmill blades via Port of Moerdijk in the Netherlands.
The special transport involved blades of 59 meters in length, delivered in packages of 30. The cargo was loaded aboard the breakbulk carrier E-Ship 1, which is partly powered by wind.
"This was a special project because this was a special load. It was a challenging project, we are talking about 60-meter-long blades, and it is always necessary to take good, necessary measures,” said Rob van de Wal from Van der Vlist.
Headquartered in the south of Holland, Van der Vlist provides a range of services focused on abnormal loads and breakbulk. The group also operates from offices in Belgium, Germany, Holland, Poland, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom.
