SAL Moves Tuzla Cargo

Multipurpose shipping line SAL Heavy Lift has moved a breakbulk power barge in Tuzla, Turkey.

The project involved safe loading of a Mermaid Power Barge measuring 94 meters long and 26 meters wide. The vessel weighed 3.1 tonnes and was loaded, alongside a smaller barge and equipment weighing 1.3 tonnes, onto the Semi sub Sun Rise of Pan Ocean.

“In addition the vessel also loaded in Tuzla one power barge and one ferry of 102 meters length bound enroute for Cancun,” a spokesperson for SAL said.

A subsidiary of German shipping group Harren, SAL Heavy Lift operates a fleet of 16 heavy-lift vessels with combined crane capacities up to 2,000 tonnes. The firm is a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts network.
