(Europe) Shipment from Constanta
Breakbulk carrier Trans Global Projects has transported an oversized oil derrick from Romania to the Caspian Sea.
The challenging shipment involved a double-banking operation to move the sections, which weighed in excess of 270 tonnes. The largest section of the derrick measured nearly 13 meters high.
“To deliver this very large oil derrick, the TGP team had to work with millimetric precision. Planning for this shipment began in early May, and we did not leave any stone unturned when preparing the most efficient, cost-effective transport solution for this oversized cargo” said Colin Charnock, CEO of TGP.
Headquartered in the UK, TGP provides project logistics management, ship chartering, logistics consultancy and transport engineering services from offices on six continents. TGP subsidiaries include Natco Switzerland, Natco Germany and NPT Brasil.
