AAL Shipping has transported three heavy-lift LNG plant modules from Hai Phong, Vietnam, to British Columbia, Canada.
AAL said the move underscored its ambition to expand regular services on the Pacific trade route in response to growing project demand across the region.
The carrier deployed its S-Class multipurpose vessel AAL Bangkok to carry the cargo, which included two vertical flare stacks measuring more than 50 meters long. The flare stacks, essential for safe gas combustion and emissions control, required complex stowage and millimeter-level clearance inside the vessel’s hold.
“Precise cargo surveys enabled stowage of the two largest modules on the tanktop with only 50-millimeter clearance between the repositioned tween deck panels, ensuring safe sea fastening and compliance with stability requirements,” said Yahaya Sanusi, deputy head of AAL Transport Engineering.
Despite a late change in discharge plans that added logistical hurdles, the modules were delivered safely through coordinated efforts between AAL and local partners.
“This operation demonstrates our ability to handle challenging dimensions and weights on tight schedules,” Sanusi added.
AAL Shipping will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Middle East in Dubai on 4-5 February.
