ABC Trials Mass Vaccine Transport

Freight airline AirBridgeCargo has completed trial runs for mass transportation of vaccines from Hong Kong to the Netherlands.

The test flights involved transport of 12 SkyCell containers to Amsterdam under tightly controlled conditions.

Mapping Vaccine Transportation

The complex project was organized in partnership with global pharma supply chain specialist UPS Healthcare.

“Powered by a diversified fleet of freighters within Volga-Dnepr Group, we are now analyzing and mapping out all possible scenarios for vaccine transportation, even using technical capabilities of An-124-100 and Il-76TD-90VD,’ ” Celetaria said.

The project involved advance delivery of the SkyCell 1500C containers from Europe to Asia in preconditioned mode, before loading with vaccines to be flown back under temperature range +2 to +8°C.


Temperature-sensitive Pharma

AirBridgeCargo reports that shipments of temperature-sensitive pharma increased more than150 percent in the first seven months of 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, with over 40,000 tons handled.

ABC is a subsidiary of Russian cargo airline Volga-Dnepr Group, it provides breakbulk flight services worldwide via a fleet of18 Boeing 747 freighters and nine of the newest generation Boeing 748-8 Freighter.
