AD Ports Group has formed a strategic joint venture (JV) with Pakistan-based logistics provider CEI Supply Chain to build an asset-light, door-to-door logistics network across the South Asia region.
The deal is aimed at linking AD Ports Group’s port and trade infrastructure with inland networks in one its key growth markets. Under the agreement, AD Ports will hold a 51% majority shareholding in the new entity.
The JV will leverage CEI Supply Chain’s established operations across major Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot and Islamabad, combined with AD Ports Group’s international network. The partners are targeting high-growth sectors such as automotive, retail, FMCG and energy, where demand for integrated logistics solutions is accelerating.
The venture is also expected to support the expansion of Noatum Logistics, AD Ports Group’s global logistics arm.
“Having secured key port infrastructure and initiated capacity upgrades, we are now entering the hinterland to offer fully integrated logistics solutions,” said Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi, regional CEO of AD Ports Group. “This venture with CEI allows us to bridge the gap between port and final consumer, driving efficiency for our customers and supporting our vision of developing Pakistan as a regional hub for the Middle Corridor and Central Asian markets.”
In related news, AD Ports has announced it has signed “landmark” deals with Nimex Terminals worth more than AED 30 billion (US$8.2 billion) to establish liquified natural gas (LNG) and liquified petroleum gas (LPG) hubs at Khalifa Port.
The move will position the deepwater facility into a leading trading hub for low-carbon energy and petrochemical logistics, AD Ports said.
The two terminals will operate as Asian-focused import, export and transhipment hubs, with start-up targeted for mid-2028 and full capacity expected by 2031 for the LNG hub and 2033 for the LPG facility. Both terminals will benefit from Khalifa Port’s advanced maritime infrastructure and multimodal connectivity.
“These agreements represent a transformative milestone for Khalifa Port and the UAE’s energy sector,” said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, managing director and group CEO of AD Ports Group. “Through our partnership with Nimex Terminals, we will equip Khalifa Port, one of the world’s fastest growing ports, with lower-impact fuel infrastructure that advances our commitment to a more sustainable future for the global ports and shipping industries.”
