Almajdouie Unveils Saudi’s First Hydrogen Truck

MoU Inked with Mining Firm Ma’aden for On-site Operations

Saudi-based Almajdouie Logistics has teamed up with the Transport General Authority, or TGA, to launch the kingdom’s first-ever hydrogen-powered truck.

Almajdouie has also become the first Saudi logistics company to receive an operational license for the trucks. A MoU has been inked with state-owned mining company Ma’aden to use the hydrogen trucks for its on-site operations.

“The hydrogen truck has zero carbon emissions and aligns with the kingdom's initiatives for sustainable development. It is specifically designed and prepared to transport goods safely and cover long distances exceeding 400 kilometers,” the TGA said in a release.

The truck boasts a capacity of 35 kilograms of hydrogen and gas pressure of up to 350 bar, the authority added.

The heavy-lift specialist has already paired up with Air Products Qudra, the development and investment company of Air Products in the Middle East, to develop Saudi’s hydrogen transportation sector.

The alliance is focusing on infrastructure development and refueling stations throughout the kingdom.

Almajdouie Logistics will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Middle East 2024 on 12-13 February at the Dubai World Trade Center, UAE. Air Products is a member of the Breakbulk Global Shipper Network.
