A Komatsu PC450-8 was collected by ALS in the UK and transported by road to a UK port where it was shipped to Belgium to meet a vessel that then sailed to the cargo’s final destination in Algeria.
Manufactured by Komatsu, the PC450 excavator measured 11.57 meters long, 3.40 meters wide and 3.71 meters high and weighed 47 tonnes.
A crane was used to lift and load the machine onto the vessel, which is scheduled to take almost 14 days to reach Algeria.
Each machine measured 11.91 meters long, 3.40 meters wide and 3.88 meters high, and weighed 46 tonnes.
From Belgium, the cargo was loaded on a vessel for the voyage to Algeria.

In a similar move earlier this year, ALS teams in the UK and Holland worked together to arrange the smooth transportation of two Komatsu crawler excavators. The machines were transported from ALS’ client’s premises to a UK port where they were shipped to Belgium. Each machine measured 11.91 meters long, 3.40 meters wide and 3.88 meters high, and weighed 46 tonnes.
