AsstrA-Associated Traffic has launched a new office in Mumbai, India, marking a “significant step” in the logistics specialist’s global expansion plans.
The new branch, which began operations on 1 August, will offer its clients a full range of “top-tier services” including air, sea and intermodal freight transportation, customs clearance and comprehensive logistics solutions.
“Mumbai is India’s largest economic and trade center, that’s why we chose it for our new office location,” Tatiana Gaevskaia, country manager of AsstrA AG India, told Breakbulk.
Zurich-headquartered AsstrA employs more than 1,300 people across Europe, the CIS, the U.S., Asia and the Middle East. In Asia, the company has branches in Shanghai and Shenzhen in China and is gearing up to launch a base in Seoul, South Korea later this year. AsstrA's Dubai office opened its doors in late-2023.
According to Gaevskaia, the Mumbai office will focus on developing relationships with AsstrA’s customers in India, exploring opportunities in sectors such as steel, pharmaceuticals, technology, chemicals and fashion, and participating in industry and business events.
The company will also look to integrate local talent and expertise into its operations.
“India is a highly competitive market and it’s very important to know the market from the inside,” Gaevskaia said. “That’s why step-by-step development with local experts with strong market knowledge is a key strategy for AsstrA.”
AsstrA is an exhibitor at Breakbulk Europe.
