(MENA) 10 Medium-range Chemical Carriers
Saudi Arabia’s national shipping company Bahri has signed a contract with South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Drydocks for the construction of 10 medium-range chemical carriers.
The agreement, valued at US$410 million, will see the tankers delivered during 2022, and is part of ongoing modernization of Bahri’s fleet. It follows a deal with HMD to build four bulk carriers, due for delivery this year.
“Based on our commitment to contribute to achieving the objectives of the maritime sector within the 'Kingdom's Vision 2030', we at Bahri continue our efforts to strengthen our huge fleet that includes the most modern multiuse vessels,” said Abdullah bin Ali Al-Dabikhi, CEO of Bahri.
Bahri owns and operates a fleet of six multi-purpose vessels alongside crude oil tankers, chemical and product carriers, and dry bulkers. The firm is a global event partner for Breakbulk exhibitions.
