Blue Bell Shipping Launches Base in Turkey

Dubai-Based Company Targets Expansion in Iraq and CIS

Blue Bell Shipping has launched an office in southern Turkey, as the Dubai-based logistics specialist seeks to expand its freight forwarding operations in Iraq and the Commonwealth of Independent States, or CIS.

Blue Bell Shipping’s commercial manager Adi Menon told Breakbulk the new base in the Mediterranean port city of Mersin was another “small step” within a wider strategy focussing on organic growth throughout the region.

The company currently has offices in the UAE, Iraq, the UK and the US.

“We are extremely active in northern Iraq with our own office and also quite active in the CIS region, but our new office in Turkey will allow us to better serve these countries,” Menon said.

“With value-added services like our own in-house transport engineering department, vessel chartering desk and centre for documentation excellence, it makes sense to export these services to neighbouring regions.”

According to Menon, the key sector for project logistics in Iraq and the CIS remains oil and gas.

Recent moves undertaken by Blue Bell Shipping have included the transport of oversized components from the UAE and other locations worldwide to various oilfield sites throughout Iraq’s northern Kurdish region.

Blue Bell Shipping will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Middle East 2023, which is taking place on 13-14 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Click here to reserve your tickets.
