Blue Water Opens Logistics Warehouse in Singapore

New Facility Designed to Handle Projects and Oversized Cargo

Breakbulk handler Blue Water Shipping has launched a third-party logistics warehouse for projects and oversized cargo in Singapore, home to the world’s busiest transshipment port.

The new facility is equipped with 45,000 square feet of indoor space and 30,000 square feet of outdoor space and will focus on handling critical oil and gas equipment and marine spares, Blue Water said.

The indoor section features high-spec selective racking with 450 pallet locations capable of sustaining a load of three tons per beam of each rack, besting the capacity of average industrial racks in the market, the company said.

A range of material handlers have been deployed to support operations, including a 45-ton reach stacker, a 10-ton lifting crane and a fleet of forklifts with capacities spanning three to 16 tons.

“With the addition of this modern warehouse, we provide short- and long-term storage solutions without depending on third parties in the world's busiest transshipment port,” said Kevin Sandhu, head of 3PL Services Blue Water Asia. “We can store, shift and pick and pack cargo in a reliable and sustainable way, adding additional value to our services.”

Blue Water’s Singapore office – one of more than 70 the company boasts worldwide – is located at the port of Singapore.

Breakbulk and project cargo volumes going in and out of the city state are expected to soar in the coming years amid the buildout of several worldscale infrastructure, renewable energy and offshore hydrocarbon projects in the region.

Blue Water, a regular exhibitor at Breakbulk Europe, specializes in capital-intensive industries such as oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, wind and solar.
