Bolloré Logistics Expands Australia Operations

Transport Specialist Completes Purchase of Adelaide-Based Lynair

Bolloré Logistics has expanded its air and ocean freight capacity in Australia after completing the purchase of Adelaide-headquartered Lynair Logistics.

The acquisition sees the company’s local unit, Bolloré Logistics Australia, take full control of Lynair, with the Adelaide firm temporarily retaining its brand name.

Lynair, established in 1988, specializes in air freight, ocean freight, customs clearance, country to country services and logistics. According to its website, its ocean freight services include the provision for managing less-than-container load and full-container-load shipments, breakbulk and project cargo.

“Lynair will carry on its business as usual and will have the strong support of Bolloré Logistics Australia as well as its global network,” said David Guarnera, state manager of Victoria and South Australia at Bolloré Logistics Australia.

Bolloré Logistics Australia already employs more than 300 staff across offices and warehousing facilities in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.

In related news, Marc Sawaya has been appointed CEO of Bolloré Logistics USA, effective from 1 August.

Sawaya has more than 20 years of experience in supply chain management, including ten with Bolloré Logistics as regional director in Canada and sales director for the Americas.

The executive will report directly to Yves Laforgue, the company’s CEO for the Americas.

Bolloré Logistics is a frequent exhibitor at Breakbulk events.

The next event in the calendar is Breakbulk Americas 2022, taking place on 27-29 September at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
