Calls for More Action to Support Our Crew Members
Victoria Pope and Liz Rankin from the Breakbulk Content Team were recently invited to a special event at the Port of Southampton’s Cruise Terminal to highlight the essential role of port communities in supporting national and global supply chains.
The event, jointly hosted by the Mission to Seafarers, Associated British Ports and DP World, and attended by the Mission’s President, HRH The Princess Royal, also recognized the hardships and challenges seafarers endured during the pandemic, and continue to experience.
Victoria and Liz were privileged to have the opportunity to discuss with HRH the work Breakbulk is planning to carry out in partnership with the Mission as part of their EDG commitments, supporting global seafarers and giving back to the communities they serve.
Over the last two years, Breakbulk has been steadfast in support of the men and women tasked with handling cargo for the industry, drawing attention to the debilitating effects on mental and physical wellbeing of extended periods at sea.
The Mission continues to help seafarers in over 200 ports around the world and provides an unwavering commitment to international key workers.
