Utilizes Enerpac JS-750 Jack-up System
Heavy-lift specialist Burkhalter has replaced a railroad bridge across the Cahaba River in Alabama, using the Enerpac Jack-up System.
The multi-step project required lifting a 500-tonne bridge span that measured 55 meters long. A team from Burkhalter utilized an Enerpac JS-750 Jack-up System for the move with two of the four bases of the jack-up system set on opposite sides of the river.
“The team designed, fabricated and provided specialized beams and transferred the weight of the new span down to slide shoes mounted on girders affixed to the jacking system to receive the weight of the new span since the old span could not support the weight of the new span and the transporters carrying it,” a spokesperson for Enerpac explained.
Enerpac is a subsidiary of Actuant Corp., a diversified industrial company based in in in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and manufactures a range of heavy-lift high-pressure hydraulic equipment via 28 offices in 22 countries
